The short answer

Radclub runs a private dedicated Valheim server for your crew. You can play even when the friend who used to host is offline. The club owns it and everyone chips in to one jar.

Why use a dedicated server for Valheim?

A dedicated server lets your crew play while the host is offline. If a friend hosts from the game, their computer must run the game and server while you play.

How much does a Valheim server cost with friends?

An always-on Valheim server costs the club from €17.50 a month. Five Vikings on a bigger server pay €4.50 each.

How do we get our Valheim server?

  1. Make your club and pick Valheim. Radbot sets up the server.
  2. Share the invite link. Friends join the club and chip in to the jar.
  3. Join your shared world in Valheim. Your club can see each friend's contributions and the money left in the jar.

What happens to our world if someone quits?

Your club keeps the world when the person who set it up leaves. The club's owner or an admin can download the world to take it elsewhere.

Radclub or running the server yourself?

  • Valheim's dedicated server tool is free on Steam, and Iron Gate has an official setup guide. If someone in the crew can keep a machine on and forward ports, that works.
  • With Radclub, your crew can chip in to one jar to cover the server bill together.
  • Radclub is built for friend groups. For a heavily modded public server, check the host's mod support and server controls.

Read our guide to splitting a server's cost with friends for ways to share the bill.

Questions people ask

Does everyone need their own copy of Valheim?
Yes. Each friend plays with their own copy of the game. The server is shared; the game isn't.
Do we need to know how servers work?
No. Pick Valheim and Radbot sets the server up. You share an invite link, and friends join the club.
Can we play when the host is offline?
Yes. Anyone in the club can play while the friend who set up the server is offline.
Can we pay less if we only play now and then?
Yes. A server can sleep when nobody's playing, which costs less than keeping it on. It starts again when someone joins.
